Show a half dollar to the audience and ask a spectator to hold it in her hand. You take a lighter and move its flame in circles close to the spectator's fist. You tell her that the heat will melt the silver.
Then, you extract a small silver nugget from the spectator's hand. But the spectator can still feel the coin. The spectator opens her hand revealing a TRANSPARENT COIN!
Instead of a lighter, you can also use a flashlight or laser pointer, or even explain that the warmth of her hand will cause the silver to soften!
