A playing card is selected and lost in the deck. You remove a rectangular piece of clear glass from a pouch, clean it with a soft cloth, and place it on top of the deck. You say the glass will pick up the essence of the selected card.
You hold the glass over a cup of coffee for a moment. A miniature image of the selected card mysteriously appears on the glass! You then wipe the glass off and it disappears! The glass is totally clear! If desired, the effect may be repeated with a different card.
The image can also be made to appear in other ways, for example by breathing on the glass, holding it over a lit candle, or by lighting a piece of flash or tissue paper on the surface.
