TALLY HO PLAYING CARDS

Tally Ho (red) Circle Back Design

The Tally-Ho brand of cards was first produced in 1885 by the Andrew Dougherty Co..  The same year, the Russell and Morgan PTG. Co. began production of the Bicycle Brand.

In 1896, after more than half a century in the playing-card industry, Andrew Dougherty transferred control of the business to his three sons, Edward, Andrew, and William.  Following his death in 1907, his sons agreed to sell the company to what eventually became the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC).

The USPCC still manufactures Tally Ho playing cards, although production today is limited.  Tally Ho's have gained favor with card players, card flourishers, and magicians over the years because of their patented slide-easy Linoid finish, round corners, and quality stock.

The Linoid finish is identifiable by the waffle-shaped impressions on the backs of the cards.  These small squares pressed into each card act as tiny air pockets causing one card to actually float on another.

Tally Ho playing cards were the favorite of master magician Dai Vernon.  Vernon uses them in many videos both performing and teaching.  Tally Ho playing cards are also the preferred cards of character Doyle Lonnegan in the movie "The Sting."

Of interest to magicians, Tally-Ho playing cards have a very subtle one-way back design.

Made in the USA and available in Red and Blue backs at Tin City Magic.  Get yours today!
